Yes, they can cause you to wish a swift death upon yourself.
One thing about "Old Death", IT is mysterious. Very unfair, in my opinion. Most die too die, in the wrong place for all the wrong reasons.
The oddest fact, few people want to die, at any age. Why? IT is too mysterious! What is IT? 
Is IT a long, comforting sleep? 
Is IT some form of torture? 
Do we know we are dead, when we die?
Do we come back?
